When we started planning our Virtual Open Day we had no idea how many potential applicants, parents, and teachers would come along. We could hardly believe it when our live Q&A attracted over 1500 people from all over the world.

Our fabulous team of tutors and student ambassadors were left buzzing as question after question poured into our online chatroom.

Is it better to go to a college with a big Classics cohort or a smaller one?

Is there a year abroad?

What differentiates Classics at Oxford from Classics at Cambridge?

Meanwhile, hundreds of virtual visitors were enjoying six brand new talks on admissions, interviews and Classical Reception, as well as a taster lecture challenging the idolisation of white marble: The Colour of White: When Did Greek Statues become White?

For those that couldn’t make it, you can still view all the talks on our YouTube channel.

Huge thanks and congratulation to the whole team. We could not have done it without our student ambassadors; Clementine, Alice, Harry, Fathiya, Rachel and AJ and of course our speakers; Llewelyn Morgan, Maria Stamatopoulou, Arlene Holmes-Henderson, Milena Melfi and Claire Barnes.

Don’t miss our next virtual event on 18th September when we will be ready with even more information, talks and live events – all about Classics at Oxford.
