Well-preserved pedimented stele with a red pomegranate between two fruits on the top. Demetrios, dressed in a chitoniskos (knee-length dress), chlamys (cloak) and boots, is seated on an elaborately carved cushioned stool in front of a wooden table, with an open book roll on his lap, holding a stylus. Next to him, a male attendant holds a book roll. The yellow book chest and a herm on the right allude to the gymnasium. The theme of the man engaged in writing is rare in funerary art.
