My research project looks at the small world of fictional letters in classical antiquity. This includes both the Latin (Ovid's Heroides) as well as the Greek works (Alciphron, Aelian, Philostratus), and it is thus the hope of my project to show the value of analyzing these very different sets of texts together. The topic of space will allow me to show how the epistolary framing affects content throughout the genre.
