My special interest area is museum archaeology: the application of archaeological method to classical archaeology collections in museums through provenance research, significance determination, and interpretive method. My MPhil thesis will focus on the study and presentation of hoards from the Roman Empire to public audiences, and especially how object biographies can be useful in assessing little-studied (but displayed) hoards from the Roman provinces in areas beyond the economic - religion, technology, social relations, and cultural, chronological, and geographical contexts. With my research, I seek to prompt more nuanced interpretations of hoards for museum audiences, with modern social relevance.
I am a museum professional, and have held roles as a Collection Manager, Curatorial Assistant, Research Assistant, and Visitor Experience Officer, across the Queensland Museum network in Australia, and at the RD Milns Antiquities Museum at the University of Queensland. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Ancient History & Classical Languages) with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland. I am currently undertaking my MPhil Classical Archaeology at the University of Oxford to merge my academic and professional fields.
I am currently acting as the Collection Manager of the Heberden Coin Room at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
