My primary area of interest is Greek vases, with a particular focus on the 'narrative impetus' of the Geometric period; the use of myth in Greek society at that time; and 'ways of seeing', that is, conveying and understanding narrative, and how that changed over time. I am also working with the Endangered Archaeology of the Middle East and North Africa project (EAMENA), analysing satellite maps of areas of Jordan and Yemen for possible archaeological sites. Outside of the Faculty, I am involved with the Oxford University Heritage Network and am particularly interested in the impact of climate change on UK heritage assets, as well as shifting definitions of 'heritage'.
