Abigail Allan

I am a second year DPhil specialising in Greek art and archaeology, with a primary interest in Greek vases. My DPhil thesis is an AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Award in partnership with the National Trust, concerning their collection of ancient Greek vases.

Outside of the university, I work more broadly in the arts and heritage sector. I am a member of the Classical Collections Network and the Oxford University Heritage Network. I have a strong research interest in the impact of climate change on UK heritage assets, having researched and written National Historic Ships UK’s Climate Change Report (published 2021). I also offer freelance museum consultancies and have previously worked with the Ashmolean Museum, the British Museum, the Endangered Archaeology of the Middle East and North Africa project (EAMENA), and the Lady Margaret Hall Art Collection. Finally, I was a 2023 member of the British Art Network’s Emerging Curators Group. My academia.edu profile can be found here: https://oxford.academia.edu/AbigailAllan
