My main research interest lies in Late Antique human mobility, especially towards the northern Italian peninsula.  I aim to investigate how mobility influenced existing cultural identities in northern Italy, while driving the emergence of new ones.  Furthermore, I will analyse current archaeological approaches to migration in Late Antique Italy, to understand how these movements are narrated and interpreted.  Examining how scholarly narratives on ancient migrations influence our current perception of the Roman and post-Roman worlds represents a central goal of my research, as well as reflecting on how these narratives can shape contemporary perspectives on cultural change and human mobility.

I am also interested in GIS-based techniques in archaeological research, having worked on a GIS Least Cost Path Analysis of Late Antique road systems for my undergraduate dissertation.
