I began my Classical studies at the Italian Liceo Classico. I then moved to Durham for my Undergraduate and MA (2018-22), and to Merton College, Oxford for my DPhil in Classical Languages and Literature (2022-26).
Research Interests
I study the literatures of Early Greece and the Ancient Near East (ANE), in their fascinating affinities and uniqueness.
My doctoral thesis (Speaking to the heart: The embodied mind in Homeric and Mesopotamian epic) explored the ways in which the Homeric, Sumerian, Akkadian, and other ANE traditions conceptualise the act of thinking as a dialogue with one’s own interiority. In doing so, it provided a glimpse into each culture’s understanding of personhood and psychological life.
