The figured scene of the tombstone of Bio, daughter of Zenon (Volos Λ22)

Two female figures interact in an interior setting; a window on the upper left corner. Bio, dressed in a violet sleeveless dress and a himation (mantle) sits on an elaborately carved cushioned stool to the left. She extends her right hand to take something from an open red box that is held by the smaller female figure facing her. The VIL and UIL images reveal details of the composition (for example the shape of the objects shown against the greenish-blue sky), and help us appreciate the very colourful composition and the delicacy of execution, especially on the contours of Bio’s palm.
