Art under the Seleukid Empire: New Perspectives

The Classical Art Research Centre is delighted to announce our next hybrid workshop, which will take place on Thursday-Friday 28-29 September 2023 at Wolfson College Oxford and online (via Zoom).

The workshop brings together international experts on different aspects of the visual cultures of the Seleukid world, from coins and inscriptions to royal imagery and small finds. We will be hearing about the latest work at Seleukia and exploring how far ‘Seleukid art’ can or should be investigated as a coherent phenomenon.
