UNIQ: Classical Archaeology

Classical Archaeology goes virtual!

It is our absolute pleasure to welcome this week 15 young people to the UNIQ Classical Archaeology Summer School.

UNIQ is Oxford’s series of free 5-day courses for state school students in Year 12.  Usually involving a residential stay, this year’s offering has, of course, moved online.

As well as enjoying challenging academic activities, participants will get to know each other, meet student ambassadors and learn how to put together a strong application.

By the end of the week, participants will have made new friends, dispelled any myths and feel inspired and confident to apply to Oxford.

UNIQ Classical Archaeology, directed by Dr Dominic Dalglish, includes lectures and tutorials on:

  • Death, Burial and Memory
  • Identity in Greek Tragedy
  • Social Mobility in the Late Republic
  • Art and Burial in Rome and Pompei

Future applicants can apply between December and January for next year’s course.
