My research area is predominantly focused on the Buddhist narrative art of ancient Gandhara, particularly the iconography of spirit cults and non-Buddhist deities in scenes of the Buddha's life; the connection between iconographical variations and regional 'workshops' responsible for the production of stupa relief panels; and the intersection of art, literature, and oral traditions in the Indian subcontinent. I have also been involved in several community outreach projects related to Classics, Archaeology, and Latin in primary education.
