In broader terms, my research focuses on the impact of Augustus’ colonies and other foundations on local and regional interactions and connectivity. With the help of my two main case studies, namely Actian Nikopolis and Roman Knossos, I aim to demonstrate that in the myriad of local differences, key similar patterns emerge throughout these Augustan foundations. I also work on and am interested in the formation and development of local identities, territorial organization, and connectivity.
