Profile:

I currently hold a Departmental Lectureship in Classical Philology and Linguistics and am a Research Fellow at Wolfson. My interests lie in Indo-European Philology, Greek, Indo-Iranian, Latin, and Germanic historical linguistics. My recent work has focused on syllable structure in Indo-European and the rules surrounding the behaviour of semivowels; Greek verbal semantics, especially the mechanisms which determine the meaning of verbs built from nouns and adjectives; and I plan to work on the role of analogy in linguistic history, and the ways in which our assumptions about sound change interact with our understanding of analogical processes.

Research Keywords:

Indo-European Philology; History of the Greek Language
