Head of Aristogeiton, one of the Tyrant-slayers.

  • Copy of the head of a marble statue from the group known as the "Tyrannicides" or "Tyrant-slayers".
    The group:
  • is a version of the original group made by Kritios and Nesiotes and set up near the Athens Agora in 477/6 BC.
  • The head:
  • was found in Hadrian's Villa at Tivoli in 1779 by Jose Nicolas de Azara.
  • is now in Madrid, Museo Arqueologico.
