Otium et Negotium in Vesuvius’ Shadow: a one-day colloquium

On 5 August 2013 a one-day colloquium will occur in London at the British Academy, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace.

All eight talks pertain to ancient Herculaneum and its milieu. Three are offered by Friends of Herculaneum, Roger Macfarlane, Richard Janko, and Robert Fowler.

Otium and Negotium in Vesuvius' Shadow: a colloquium on the latest research trends on economy and culture of Roman villas.

Admission is free.

The colloquium is sponsored by Brigham Young University and hosted by its London Centre. It is held in informal connection with the current exhibition at the British Museum,Life and Death in Pompeii and Herculaneum.
