Profile

I am a college lecturer in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, and currently provide teaching for the papers Texts and Contexts, Greek Sculpture, Greek Art and Archaeology, Roman Art under the Empire, and Sexuality and Gender in Greece and Rome, to undergraduates in Lit. Hum., CAAH, and joint schools, and a small numbers of archaeology papers to Master's students.

After a first degree in Classics at Exeter College, Oxford, I took at PGCE at King's College London and taught for several years in schools before returning to Oxford to read for my M.Phil and D.Phil in Classical Archaeology at Lincoln College. Prior to rejoining Lincoln as a lecturer, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher in Archaeology for the ERC-funded project The Social and Cultural Construction of Emotion: The Greek Paradigm, based in the University's Classics Department.

Research Interests

Classical and Hellenistic art and archaeology, Body language and anatomy, Figurative sculpture, the Archaeology of social interaction.
