Profile

My current research focusses mainly on the Phoenician world, though I am also working on a book manuscript on the cultural history of North Africa. I co-direct the Tunisian-British excavations at Utica (Tunisia), I'm a member of the Board of Professors for the PhD in Roman Archaeology at the University of Siena, and here at Oxford I teach Greek and Roman history, and Roman archaeology, and supervise graduate students in Roman history.

Research Interests

Ancient History, especially Hellenistic, Punic and Republican; Archaeology, especially North African; Gender Studies.
