Exhibition: "Early Explorers in Anatolia" - featuring photographs, drawings, diaries, and incidental objects from the archives of
Sir Christopher Cox and Michael Ballance produced during their explorations in Anatolia and Asia Minor in the early 20th Century.

New Research Projects:
Social and Cultural Construction of Emotions: The Greek Paradigm
The project ‘Social and Cultural Construction of Emotions: The Greek Paradigm’, is funded by an Advanced Investigator Grant awarded to Professor Angelos
Chaniotis (All Souls College) by the European Research Council (2009-2013). The project aims at contributing to a more reliable, nuanced, and comprehensive
history of emotions in the Greek world through the study of paradigms from Classical antiquity and a dialogue with the historical, social, and natural sciences.

The World of Inner Anatolia:
The Centre for the Study of Ancient Documents (CSAD) is home to a major new research project,
funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The Monumenta Asiae Minoris Antiqua XI
project is focused on the monuments, history and culture of the remote highlands of inner Anatolia
in the Roman and Byzantine periods.

Lefkandi
The British School of Athens began excavations at Lefkandi in 1964 under the direction of Mervyn Popham and Hugh Sackett.
The site was spotted by the two archaeologists after surveying the island of Euboea to find suitable sites for excavation.
